about

Dedicated to Joe Bob Briggs and Darcy the Mail Girl because it all started with a riff I was playing around with while watching them on The Last Drive In. For a while, it was called "Darcy's Demonic Dance" because I'm a sucker for alliteration but, when I finished it, none of it sounded demonic. I could hear a few ghosts, though.

This could be part 2 of Quarantine Quilt, since I did most of it while my job was closed during lockdown, and because it has the same basic concept of exploring a few musical ideas and building a suite out of them. That one was folk songs, free form improv and sine waves. For this one, I made a point of avoiding the last two, so there's almost no improv in this, no soloing at all, and hardly any electronic sounds (Mostly white noise in a couple of places). Instead, it's odd time signatures, blues, Irish fiddle tunes and "Twist and Shout." Plus this may be the first piece to go from Chuck Berry licks to a Keith Rowe imitation.

about

Tommy Stevens New York, New York

I guess my life has been pretty uneventful, except for that time I was on a field trip with my high school science class and was bitten by a radioactive spider.

Oh, also, I played at CBGB once. That was pretty cool.
